Franklin Park Baseball & Softball Open Regionals Today

The Franklin Park baseball and softball teams will open up regional play today and both travel to Benton.  The Bobcats will open with Casey Mount Vernon at 3pm today with the Lady Bobcats opening with Benton at 5pm.  The championship games will both be held on Thursday afternoon in Benton.

Also in baseball action today, Centralia will play Breese at 4pm at the same time Carlyle and Wesclin play.  Games will be at the higher seed.

In Class S yesterday, Iuka beat Raccoon/Kell 12-2 to advance to the semifinals on Wednesday against top-seed Altamont Lutheran.  Selmaville shutout Field 12-0 to move into the semifinals and will play Trinity St Mary’s.

Yesterday, Trinity St Mary’s beat Sandoval to open regionals.  Tucker Aydt had 3 hits in the 184 victory.  He also earned the win allowing 4 hit and 4 runs over 2.2 striking out 5.  Stein drove in 4 runs for the Defenders from the #9 spot in the lineup.

In softball action today in Class L, Wesclin and Centralia will play at 4pm at Wesclin followed by Breese and Carlyle.

In Class M this afternoon, Rome takes on Albion while Fairfield plays Wayne City.

In Class S, Patoka plays Raccoon/Kell at 4:30, Selmaville hosts Sandoval and Iuka takes on Odin/ACA.
