Two occupants of a car were taken to Salem Township Hospital early Friday night for treatment of injuries following a crash on West Main at Illinois Street in Salem.
Salem Police say a semi driven by 31-year-old Michel-Ange Nicolas of Indianapolis was traveling eastbound on West Main when he ran into the rear of a car that stopped for a light that had changed to red at Illinois Street. The driver of the car, a 15-year-old Salem girl with a learner’s permit, and her mother, Trisha Mulvaney of Selmaville Road in Salem, were both taken by United Medical Response to Salem Township Hospital for treatment. A 13-year-old boy, who was also a passenger in the car, was not injured.
Nicolas also escaped injury but was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident.
The crash occurred at 5:56 Friday night.
