A 22-year-old Salem man has been arrested for aggravated assault with the use of a deadly weapon after allegedly threatening his sister with a large hunting knife.
Salem Police say the incident occurred during a Sunday afternoon argument at a home Dakota Day shares with his sister in the 100 block of East Mitchell Street.
Police report Day’s mother was visiting when the altercation occurred and was able to wrestle the knife away from Day.
There were no injuries.
Salem Police were called after the incident occurred and took Day into custody and later to the Marion County Jail where he remains pending a decision on the filing of formal charges.
