The Franklin Park Lady Bobcats play at Casey Mount Vernon after going 2-1 over the weekend at the Woodlawn Tournament.
Lady Cats go 1-1 on the day. The day opened with a 12-0 win over Aviston. Quinn Wolfe was great on the mound getting the win. At the plate Morgan Honerkamp, Alli Thurman, Abigail Thompson and Wolfe had hits.
The Lady Cats fell in the championship game to a really good Steelville 2-1. Abigail Thompson was tremendous on the mound, striking out 10. At the plate Alli Thurman led the way with 2 hits and drove in the lone run, Morgan Honerkamp added the only other hit.
Selmaville opened Saturday with an 11-0 win over Aviston. Alli Patrick had 2 hits with a double and RBI, Talya Gowler had a double and triple, Kaolin Lewis doubled home 2 runs. Keira Meredith struck out 10 with no walks and gave up just 2 hits.
In the 2nd game they lost 5-4 to Woodlawn. Shelby Johnson had 2 hits and 2 runs scored, Gowler tripled and drove in 2, Lewis also drove in a run. Meredith allowed 4 hits and struck out 8 as Selamville is 13-4 on the season and hosts Patoka on Tuesday.
Meredith sits just 89 strikeouts away from Lauren Burges 452 career mark with a chance to eclipse that mark this year.
Peddicord’s No-Hitter Leads SC To Regional Win
The SC Lady Falcons opened up their IESA regional with a 10-0 win over St Elmo/Brownstown. Maddi Peddicord tossed another no-hitter allowing just 2 walks and struck out 18. At the plate, Kennah HIestand drove in 3 runs, 2 each from Baylee Brown and Claire Chasteen. Emmie Ruholl and Rylan Williams also drove in runs. SC will play for a regional title against St Anthony on Tuesday.
Raccoon/Kell softball will host 8th grade day today welcoming Iuka. Sandoval is at home with Rome.
