The Woodlawn Softball Tournament opened yesterday with an All Salem battle as Franklin Park snapped Selmaville’s 8-game winning streak with a 3-0 victory.  Alli Thurman struck out 4 with great defense behind her.  Emma Lipe, Abigail Thompson, Morgan Honerkamp and Thurman all had a hit.  Thompson, Lipe and Quinn Wolfe added RBI.  Keira Meredith pitched a gem for the Lady Rockets striking out 13 allowing just 2 earned runs and 4 hits.  Alana Finney singled and Kaolin Lewis went 2-3.  Selmaville is 12-3 on the season.

The Lady Rockets return to tournament play today against Aviston at 10am and then a final game this afternoon.  Franklin Park will play Aviston at 11:30 and a trophy game at 1.

Iuka knocked off Bluford 9-2 behind 18 strikeouts from Katee Sellers who only allowed 2 hits on the day.  Emily Jones had 2 hits with a triple and drove in a run along with Elaina Dial.  Kenzie McGinnis added 2 RBI.

Trinity St Mary’s Defenders beat Patoka 9-2.  Emrie Quick got the win striking out 12.  Reese Koester doubled with 2 RBI, Quick added a double and scored twice, Raylynn Parker also doubled.  Leah Kleiboeker and Bailey Pingsterhaus both had hits.
