A 37-year-old homeless Centralia man has been formally charged in Marion County Court with two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse to a 13 to 17-year-old and a single count of unlawful restraint.

Bryce Jones had a bond set at $100,000 during his first appearance on Friday afternoon.

Centralia Police say Jones allegedly committed sexual acts with a 15-year-old juvenile from One Hope United who was away from campus on liberty time.   The unlawful restraint charge claims he held the alleged victim by the waist with his hands and prevented her from moving.  The incident reportedly occurred in a garage in the 400 block of East Broadway.

The juvenile went to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital to complete a rape kit.

Jones was arrested when located by police at 8:43 Thursday night in the 1200 block of South Cherry Street.

Jones had the public defender appointed to represent him and was ordered to have no contact with the alleged victim if released.
