The Marion County Sheriff’s Department was kept busy on Monday handling multiple burglary and theft complaints.
The sheriff’s department reports a car stolen from a home in the 100 block of South Washington in Kinmundy was recovered by Effingham County Sheriff’s Deputies before it was even reported missing after it was involved in a burglary. An arrest was made, but further details are not yet available.
Two vehicles were entered in the 5500 block of Kinoka Road in rural Alma sometime before 5:30 Monday morning. A wallet was stolen from one and $250 in cash out of the second.
Unknown contents are reported missing after a lock was cut off a storage unit at the Dunahee Storage Units near US 50 and Hoots Chapel Road just west of Salem.
Jones Auto in the 8300 block of Garrett Road in rural Alma reported a dealer license plate stolen from a vehicle in a garage sometime after 9:30 Sunday morning.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of tools from a home in the one-thousand block of Burge Road in rural Centralia. The homeowner reported a person working for him allegedly left with the tools.
