The Kaskaskia College Board swore in the new student trustee at Monday night’s meeting by Board Chair Bill Hawley.
Madison Johnson of Vandalia was a 2022 Vandalia Community High School graduate and plans to continue her education after she graduates from KC to obtain a bachelor’s degree in financial services.
“I want to be able to make the students feel like they are able to reach the board through me. I feel like I have a voice to speak to the students and the board and get everything back to them.”
Johnson is also President of the KC Business Club.
The board also recognized outgoing Student Trustee Alyssa Lurkins with a resolution thanking her for her service during the past year.
