The second winner of a Kaskaskia College Board seat is uncertain following extremely close vote totals in Tuesday’s election.

What is clear is Bryan Holthaus of Carlyle has won a seat as the top vote getter.  With unofficial totals from all nine counties making up the college district, Holthaus finished with 6,068 votes.

The other incumbent, Jim Beasley of Centralia, is currently in second place with 4,969 votes.   However, he is just 28 votes ahead of Brian Brink of Breese, who tallied 4,941 votes.   Chuck Lehr of Salem finished 4th in the balloting 1,849 votes.

The vote totals are not final because additional votes are expected to be added from late arriving vote by mail and absentee ballots.   Those votes will be accepted for 14 days after the election provided they are postmarked by election day on Tuesday, April 4th.
