A 57-year-old rural Farina man faces additional weapons and drug charges after a search of his home following his arrest on a warrant charging meth delivery and possession.
Fayette County Sheriff’s officials say a search warrant was executed on the home of Kent Keppler last Tuesday night. A significant amount of methamphetamine along with what is believed to be $5,163 in drug proceeds were recovered.
The findings led to three Class X charges being filed against Keppler for armed violence, meth delivery between 15 and 100 grams and possession of 100 to 400 grams of meth. Two new three Class 3 felonies were also filed for unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and criminal fortification of a residence. Bond on the new charges was set at $100,000.
Bond on the warrant that Keppler was originally arrested on had bond set at $30,000. The warrant charging unlawful meth delivery of between five and 15 grams of methamphetamine and possession of between 5 and 15 grams was issued on February 24th.
The public defender was appointed to represent Keppler on the charges.
