Belleville man charged with pointing gun at occupied vehicle in Centralia

A 19-year-old Belleville man has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated assault after allegedly pointing a firearm at an occupied vehicle.

Centralia Police arrested Demonte Agnew following a Friday disturbance in the Lamplight Apartments on Fairway Drive.   Police were directed to an apartment where Agnew had allegedly run.  A handgun was reportedly recovered.

Bond for Agnew was set at $40,000 during his first appearance in Marion County Court on Monday.   A public defender was appointed to represent him.
