A 37-year-old Addieville man has been formally charged in Marion County Court with unlawful possession of ammunition by a felon and driving under the influence of drugs following a one-vehicle accident on the south side of Centralia early Monday night.
Centralia Police say a male later identified as Garrett Ralston of North Center Street was reportedly seen jumping out of the car after it ran off Greenview Church Road near US 51. After being stopped by a Jefferson County Sheriff’s Deputy in the area, Ralston was transported to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia after saying he had eaten methamphetamine in his possession. He was transferred to the Marion County Jail after treatment.
During the processing of the car, Centralia Police say some ammunition for a gun was found inside a small duffle bag leading to the weapons charge.
The incident was reported at 6:24 Monday night.
During his first appearance in court, bond for Ralston was set at $25,000. A March 15th status hearing has been set regarding counsel.
