Marion County Sheriff’s Department gets donation of three defibrillators

Marion County Sheriff Kevin Cripps has announced a donation of three LIFEPAK defibrillators.

Cripps accepted the units from Rich Crouse at the Crouse Funeral Home in Salem.   He says the donation will make the defibrillators more available.

“There is one in the courthouse that is available, one on the ground floor and 2nd floor of the jail, one in the nurse’s station at the jail and then we have 2 in squad cars currently.”

One of the units will be added to the third squad in operation during some shifts.  Cripps notes the deputies are often first on the scene of a medical emergency situation where the defibrillators and be a lifesaver.

The sheriff is thanking Rich Crouse and his staff for making Marion County a safer place to live.
