A 39-year-old Salem woman has been charged in Marion County Court with a Class 2 felony of identity theft.

Bellamie Frasier, who told authorities she was homeless, is accused in the charge of using another person’s name, address, phone number, and social security number on credit applications to obtain a loan through a bank for a vehicle purchase valued at between $2,000 and $10,000.

Bond was set at $7,000.   Frasier later posted $700 cash bond and was released.  As a condition of bond release, she was ordered to have no contact with the victim.

The public defender was appointed to represent her.
