A 19-year-old Patoka man has been arrested for aggravated battery after allegedly hitting his roommate with a golf club and stabbing him in the arm with a knife.
Noah Meredith of the Marion County Housing Authority units on West Bond reportedly got into the altercation in their apartment.
The alleged victim was taken to SSM Health St. Mary’s Hospital in Centralia via private vehicle for treatment and was later released. After the hospital reported the victim’s arrival for treatment, Meredith called the sheriff’s office asking to talk to a deputy about issues he was having.
By the time they arrived to talk to Meredith the alleged victim had identified Meredith as the person responsible for the injuries.
Meredith was then taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges.
The altercation was first reported to police at 8:07 Tuesday morning.
