A 43-year-old Salem man has been arrested by Salem Police for possession of a firearm by a felon. Ronald Potter of Salem Mobile Home Park was arrested following a traffic stop in the 1600 block of East Main Friday night after the Salem canine alerted on the vehicle. The handgun was reportedly found hidden in the engine compartment along with ammunition.
Salem Police have arrested a 27-year-old Salem woman for felony criminal trespass to a residence, battery, and resisting arrest. Police report their initial complaint was that Haley Wadlington had struck a residence in the 300 block of West Olive. A second report indicated Wadlington had gone to a home in the 500 block of Allman Street where she formerly lived and entered the home without permission. She then allegedly refused to stop for Salem Police when they spotted her walking nearby.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested 36-year-old James Phillips of Jeanne Drive in Salem for alleged disorderly conduct and resisting a peace officer. He reportedly called police from the Cross Road overpass on I-57 and complained he had earlier been assaulted.
Wamac Police arrested 45-year-old Ryan Garrison of Chicago Avenue on a domestic battery charge.
Three others were arrested on outstanding warrants.
- A 34-year-old homeless man, Jeremiah Leigh, was arrested by Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies on an outstanding warrant on a pending possession of methamphetamine charge. Bond is set at $20,000.
- 28-year-old Ericka Kessler of South Avenue in Iuka posted $250 after being arrested on an Effingham County misdemeanor warrant.
- A 36-year-old St. Louis man, Rufus Triggs Junior, posted $300 bond after being arrested by Sandoval Police on a Jersey County conservation warrant.
