Police Beat for Thursday, February 16th, 2023

Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a 29-year-old Odin woman for child abandonment after allegedly leaving her three young children home alone.  Natatiana Pickett of North Merritt Street was taken into custody when later returning to the home.  The Department of Children and Family Services had discovered the one, seven, and eight-year-olds home alone when conducting an unannounced home visit.  Pickett was later given a notice to appear on the misdemeanor charge and released from the Marion County Jail.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 53-year-old Salem man for violation of bail bond.  Bryan Hester of East Olive was reportedly creating a disturbance at a relative’s home where he was prohibited by the release on bond in another pending case.

Centralia Police have arrested a 26-year-old Centralia man on a felony failure to appear warrant in a pending aggravated battery case.   Bond for Nathan Bailey of North Poplar is set at $10,000.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of gas from a motorcycle parked inside the garage of a home in the 900 block of Racetrack Road east of Centralia.
