A 39-year-old Jefferson County woman who was the primary suspect in a drug bust in Bluford in August has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Rose McCormick pleaded guilty to a Class X charge of aggravated delivery of methamphetamine.  She also pleaded to an unlawful delivery of a controlled substance charge and received a six year concurrent sentence.

A high-risk team with the Mt. Vernon Police, Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and an ILEAS tactical response team completed the bust with specialized equipment after several weeks of investigation of illegal drug activity in the Bluford area.  Deputies seized both fentanyl and methamphetamine along with drug equipment, currency and what is believed to be stolen property taken in a burglary.

Three others were arrested with McCormick at the time of the bust.
