Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White’s office is reminding the public that the extension on driver’s license and state ID expiration dates ends soon.
Drivers were given more time to get their licenses renewed during the pandemic, but that extension is coming to an end on December 1. Secretary of State Spokesperson Harry Haupt says they have tried to alert people about their options.
“We’ve seen an uptick throughout this process of people renewing because we’ve put out a number of alerts when we extended the expiration and throughout this process we have continued to remind people they can renew online if they are eligible.”
