Police Beat for Sunday, November 20th, 2022

Salem Police have arrested a 59-year-old Lebanon man for felony retail theft at the Salem Walmart store.   Michael Lyday was taken to the Marion County Jail to await a decision on formal charges.

21-year-old Deiaja Lowe of North Maple in Centralia was arrested by Centralia Police for driving on a suspended license.  A charge of felony criminal damage to state-supported property was added after she allegedly damaged a squad car on her way to the county jail.

27-year-old Kayla Price, with no address listed, was arrested by Centralia Police for violation of an order of protection.

31-year-old Andrew Casner of Omega Road in Kinmundy was arrested by Salem Police on an outstanding Marion County warrant issued in a domestic battery case as well as a traffic failure to appear warrant.  Bond totals $7,500.

49-year-old Demetrius Lenard of Champaign was returned by prisoner transport to the Marion County Jail on a felony failure to appear warrant in a pending possession of methamphetamine case.  The bond on the warrant is set at $6,000.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the theft of a non-operational four-wheeler from a residence in the 5700 block of Walnut Hill Road.

Salem Fire Protection District was called out to the Dave Peters property in the 2800 block of Hoots Chapel Road after a controlled brush fire on Friday rekindled on Saturday during the strong winds.   It was put out without any property damage.
