Auditions are scheduled for Monday and Wednesday evenings for the Salem Theatre production of ‘Million Dollar Meatballs’.

Curtis Black will direct the play that is scheduled to be performed on January 27th, 28th, and 29th and February 3rd, 4th, and 5th.

Auditions will be from six to eight on both Monday and Wednesday nights of this week.   Please come prepared with a short comedic monologue.   The cast will include four males, four females, and four other roles that could be played by either males or females.

There will be an initial read-through before Thanksgiving, with rehearsals to start in early December on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings.

The play centers around two bumbling jewel thieves who are running from the cops when they duck into Chez Monyeu, a restaurant so bad the mice are their only repeat customers.   Not only that the chef has just quit as the city’s most powerful restaurant critic is about to arrive.   In desperation, the restaurant’s owner, mistaking the thieves for famous French chefs, insists that they make their renowned Million Dollar Meatballs for the tough-minded critic.   Insanity ensues as the pair try to keep up the ruse while hunting for the seven priceless diamonds they lost.
