A 43-year-old rural Odin man has been sentenced to 30 months probation in Marion County Court on Thursday after entering a negotiated plea to a felony charge of criminal sexual abuse.
Jason Arnold of Farthing Road admitted to committing an act of sexual gratification to a person under the age of 18 in June 2019.
As part of the plea agreement, two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse to a family member under the age of 18 were dropped.
Arnold will also have to undergo sex offender evaluation with treatment, abstain from drugs and alcohol with treatment along with random testing, as well as having no contact with the victim. Judge Mark Stedelin allowed Arnold to possess a bow for bow hunting, but no other dangerous weapon.
The case was filed in September 2019. Arnold has been out on a $15,000 cash bond since shortly after his arrest.
