The CORLHS Silver Stallions competed hard at The Gateway Metro Conference Cross Country meet today held at Father McGivney Catholic High School in Glen Carbon, IL. The boys placed 3rd out of 5 teams with 51points. Father McGivney Catholic (Glen Carbon) won the meet with 36 pts and Metro East Lutheran (Edwardsville) was 2nd with 39pts. Also competing was Alton Marquette 4th and Maryville Christian School 5th.
For The Stallions Jr. Elijah Gregory was 2nd (17:09) claiming All-Conference honors (awarded to Top 7) and medaling! This was his first race back after missing his last 2 races due to illness. The Stallions had a strong pack with their #2-4 runners with Zerek Koch finishing 10th (18:27), Isaiah Lyons 11th (18:41) and Yilian Lu 13th (18:52). Christian Nollman rounded out the scoring for the Stallion in 24th place (20:35). Tommy Taylor and Ligel Lyons also ran well as pushers finishing 25th (20:53) and 30th (23:13) respectively.
For the Lady Stallions Jr. Sarah McKowen and Soph. Rylee Brammeier both are All-Conference runners finishing 3rd (20:07) and 5th (21:07) in the girls Varsity race. Sr. Abigail Meyer finished 13th (23:17) overall and Alexis Livesay was 23rd (28:35). The Lady Stallions only had 4 runners today and did not have a team score. Father McGivney Catholic won the girls race with 23pts, Alton Marquette 2nd with 46pts and Metro East Lutheran was 3rd with 54. Great job at Conference today Stallions and Lady Stallions!
