The IHSA State Golf Finals will begin today.

In 2a boys, Salem’s Jairen Stroud will compete as an individual after tying for 1st at the Waterloo Sectional earlier in the week.  He will compete at Weibring Golf Club in Normal.  Also individually competing will be Jacob Hall of Columbia and Olney’s Ayden Nealis and Alex Nealis.  Benton, Mattoon and Chatham Glenwood were the teams that advanced from Waterloo.

The 1a boys will play at Prairie Vista Golf Course in Bloomington.  Christ Our Rock junior Parker Boehne will compete as an individual after advancing out of the Effingham St Anthony Sectional finishing 2nd to Vandalia’s Conner McCall.  Also competing this weekend is Nashville’s Parker Renken and Avery Jahraus of Altamont.

The 1a girls will compete at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur.  Salem’s Makinzie Mann will compete after advancing from the Salem Sectional in a multi-player, sudden death playoff.  She will join Centralia’s Chananya Domethong who finished tied with Mt Carmel’s Madelyn Young for 1st in Sectionals.  Also competing will be Brynn Stiegman of Nashville.  Teams that advanced from Salem were Mt Carmel, Massac County and Columbia.
