Salem Soccer Has Busy Weekend — Recap

Salem Soccer’s weekend started off with the 1st/2nd graders traveling for an early game at Mascoutah. They came out with a 4-1 win. Goals were scored by Libby Gozia, Gavin Purcell, Jonah Findley and Hadley Michel. Zyley Hensler, Purcell, Findley and Gozia played well in net. Titan Wangler played solid on the black line.

 

The 3rd/4th graders had a great scrimmage that ended in a 1-1 draw. The players then got the experience of penalty kicks after the game. Trevin Lewis and Addyson Nix did great as keepers for the penalty kicks. Grayson Frazier scored for the boys and Addyson Nix scored for the girls during the game. Goalkeepers were Lewis and Kaysen Findley for the boys. The girls were Aspen Morris and Ellie Barnfield for the girls.

 

The 5th/6th Boys hosted O’Fallon. It was a close game that finished in a 3-4 lost. Carson Hackney scored twice. Kam Rasul scored once on a great volley. Dakota Gregg and Hunter Williams played in net. Williams made a big save on a penalty kick.

 

The 5th/6th girls hosted New Baden next. The tough game finished in 0-0 draw. Keepers for Salem were Gabby Gaston and Alei Dietz. The players made a lot of great passes and had some quality chances.

 

The 7th/8th graders finished the weekend with 2-6 loss against unbeaten Carlyle. Shelby Johnson and Sarah Hosie. John Hahs and Isaiah Findley played well in net. Caid Davis did well on tha back line. Addy Lever and Addy Douglas put together some great passes.
