An investigation into alleged child pornography activity has led to the arrest of a 23-year-old Mt. Vernon man.
Owen Capogreco of South 19th Street was taken into custody Wednesday on a Jefferson County warrant charging five counts of possession of child pornography involving a victim under 13. Bond is set at $100,000.
The investigation began on August 17th when the detective division of the sheriff’s department received a tip of suspected child pornography activity through their membership with the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force. Multiple search warrants were eventually issued, including one for the suspect’s residence on South 19th Street on September 15th.
