The 100th DuQuoin State Fair is underway in Southern Illinois.

Livestock are being prepped, food is frying, and entertainers are ready to dazzle the crowds. Governor JB Pritzker was on hand for the official ribbon cutting Friday evening.

Pritzker said, “Over the coming days, as visitors come from all over in search of a fun fair adventure, a great concert, a corndog, or a blue ribbon prize, I just want to say thank you, thank you, thank you for joining us and for the making the DuQuoin State Fair a part of your summer.”

New attractions this year include a pirate puppy show, Illinois products expo, and DockDogs. The DuQuoin State Fair runs through September fifth.
