The Centers for Disease Control is dropping Marion County from the high to moderate community level for COVID-19.

Weekly figures from the COVID tracker show 111 new or likely cases of COVID-19 in the past week.  That’s a two-percent increase.   There were three new hospitalizations reported.

Clinton County moved to the high community level even though the 74 new cases reported this week are down 11 percent from last week.   However, there were four new hospitalizations.

Washington County went the other direction, falling to the low level with 25 new cases and one new hospitalization.   The number of cases was up 14 percent from last week.

Jefferson County remained at the medium level with 127 new cases, a 15-percent increase, with two new hospitalizations.

Fayette County had a 22-percent drop in cases to 85 with one new hospitalization.   They also remain at the medium level.

Clay County had 54 new cases, a 4-percent increase, and one new hospitalization.

Wayne County had 67 new cases, a ten-percent increase, with one new hospitalization.

Statewide, there were 32,268 new confirmed and probable cases of coronavirus disease in Illinois, including 52 additional deaths since July 15th.   58 counties are now at the high community level and 36 others at the medium level.

As of Thursday night, 1,453 individuals in Illinois were reported to be in the hospital with COVID-19.  Of those, 145 patients were in the ICU and 46 patients with COVID-19 were on ventilators.
