Marion County, as Trustee, has completed its tax deed proceedings on real estate properties delinquent for 2022 and mobile homes delinquent for 2023 and prior real estate taxes.
The County, as Trustee, will now offer the real estate and mobile homes for sale to the public. The County will sell approximately 132 real estate items and 27 mobile home items through a sealed-bid auction.
All sealed written bids must be submitted to the Marion County Treasurer’s Office located in the Marion County Courthouse, 100 E. Main Street, Suite 105, Salem, Illinois 62881, no later than the close of business on October 2, 2026. All online bids must be submitted via www.iltaxsalebids.com no later than the close of business on October 2, 2026.
Auction officials say the sale of these lots and mobile homes should benefit both the Taxing Districts and neighboring property owners. This sale will put the real estate and mobile homes in the hands of individuals interested in owning them.
The County, as Trustee, hopes these new owners will maintain the property and mobile homes and continue paying taxes. By eliminating abandoned properties, the neighborhood’s appearance should improve, and adjoining properties’ values should increase.
The required minimum bid on real estate is $832.00, and on mobile homes is $915.00. All items will be sold to the highest sealed bid received by October 2, 2026.
