A mobile home being moved broke down in the middle of Red Stripe Road east of Deadmond Road in rural Odin early Friday evening.’
Marion County Sheriff’s officials say special equipment required for the moving of a mobile home was not used and the vehicle sustained flat tires that left it stuck in the roadway for some time. Traffic was able to go around the mobile home.
Because of the nature of the incident, State Police were called in to handle it. State Police eventually had the mobile home pushed to the side of the road where it remained Saturday morning.
Marion County Sheriff’s Deputies arrested a person believed to be involved in moving the home on an outstanding St. Clair County warrant. 49-year-old Melvin Crepps of West 5th Street in Centralia was taken to the Marion County Jail to await transfer to St. Clair County.
