A 31-year-old Centralia man has been arrested for alleged domestic battery. Fernando Calcutt of South Poplar was taken into custody by Centralia Police and later transferred to the Marion County Jail to await a final decision on charges.
Centralia Police arrested 58-year-old Gerald Phillips of East Broadway in Centralia on a no bond Marion County felony failure to appear warrant.
Jefferson Fire officials spent five hours handling a fire that destroyed a box trailer on I-57 near the Dix exit. The cause of the fire has not been determined. There were no injuries. Southbound traffic was diverted to one lane for several hours. The incident was first reported at three Tuesday afternoon.
