Balloon Fest opens at its new location in Fairview Park at three Friday afternoon. The Centralia High School Band and Choir will perform at the opening ceremony at 3:30 pm. The evening balloon flight is scheduled for 5:30 this evening followed by tethered balloon rides at six and the Balloon Glow at 7:30. First night headlining entertainment is the Boy Band Night.
Other balloon events for the weekend are balloons flying over Centralia around six Saturday and Sunday mornings, a balloon flight from Fairview Park at 5:30 Saturday evening, tethered balloon rides at six and the second Balloon Glow at 7:30 Saturday evening. Local pilots will also fly from the park around 5:30 Sunday evening.
Balloon Fest is free to enter this year, with free parking as well at the Fairview Park Shopping Center across the street. Shuttle busses will run from the downtown parking lots on Locust Street and from City Hope Church. Broadway between the park and Fairview Park shopping center will be closed to vehicle to help people enter the park.
