The Salem Fire Protection District was called to an out of control trash fire that was threatening to burn down a small shed late Wednesday afternoon.
Firemen upon arrival in the 2600 block of South Washington found flames beginning to scorch the eight by ten foot building. However, they were able to stop the fire before it could do any other damage to the shed or its contents.
Firemen report the trash fire had been set just about five feet from the building.
