Centralia Police say both drivers were injured in a two-car crash at Pleasant and McCord Streets in Centralia Monday afternoon.
Reports indicate 64-year-old Jeffrey Shafran of Lakewood Drive in Centralia was traveling eastbound on McCord when witnesses say he ran a red light and struck a northbound car on Pleasant driven by 61-year-old Beth Mischke of State Route 15 in Ashley. Centralia Firemen had to remove the door of one of the cars to allow the driver to get out.
A passenger in the Shafran car, 61-year-old Teresa Shafran of Lakewood Drive in Centralia, was not injured.
Jeffrey Shafran was ticketed for disobeying a traffic control device.
