A Centralia dry cleaning business is back in full operation after a new $90,000 dry-cleaning machine was installed on Monday.
The co-owner of Fleming Cleaners at 903 North Poplar, Virgilia Detering, had been open since the explosion destroyed her old machine but couldn’t complete the dry-cleaning part of the business.
Detering says she is looking forward to getting reacquainted with customers.
Detering had initially thought the insurance company would only replace the ruined machine with a used model. The new machine meets all current environmental conditions.
Detering was injured in the explosion that caused the door to fly off and hit a wall 15 feet away. The handle caused an injury to Detering’s arm for which she received hospital treatment.
Detering says that all other damage from the explosion has been repaired.
