The Centralia City Schools Board of Education on Tuesday approved one-year contractual agreements with both the Centralia City Schools Teachers Association and the Centralia Education Association Educational Support Personnel. The new contracts have a 2% plus step salary increase. The same increases were approved for contracted confidential employees, bus personnel, and administration building personnel. Three items that were set to sunset, professional development, attendance bonuses, and preparation hours before the start of the school year, were allowed to revert back to the previous contract.
The board accepted the resignation of Hannah Schori as fifth grade teacher and approved the dismissal of James LaBelle as bus monitor. Heather Osborne was transferred from Jordan Mental Health Paraprofessional to Jordan Mental Health support.
Dates have been set for registration for the coming school year. Kindergarten registration is Thursday, August 6 from 12:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Schiller Elementary School. First through eighth grade registration is Tuesday, August 4 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at CJHS.
