Salem Police report one person was taken to Salem Township Hospital for treatment following a four vehicle crash Monday night in front of Salem Community High School.
Police say the crash began when a 17-year-old male driver from Odin was traveling northbound on North Broadway when he made a left turn in front of a southbound car driven by 21-year-old Maya Susmena of Salem. The impact caused her to lose control and strike two other vehicles, both driven by 17-year-old Salem male juveniles.
Susmena was transported to the hospital by United Medical Response. The other three drivers declined hospital treatment. The 17-year-old Odin juvenile boy was ticketed for failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident. The Salem Fire Protection District was called to assist.
North Broadway was closed to traffic until the wreckage could be cleared. The crash was reported at 9:30 Monday night.
