Thunderstorms turned severe when crossing Southern Jefferson County Tuesday night.
Tri-County Electric reported considerable damage to their system in the area of Rend Lake College. The cooperative reported there was damage to electrical equipment, broken and leaning poles, downed and low hanging lines, and other storm related concerns.
Power was knocked out to a number of residents until repairs were completed by Tri-County Electric crews around midnight. All available personnel were called in to help.
Tri County is asking those cleaning up from the storm who notice any damage to report it so repairs can be made.
Severe thunderstorms were issued twice for southern Jefferson County as the storms passed over.
The Salem Water Plant recorded 45-hundredths of an inch of rain and the Centralia Water Plant .08 inches of rain from the storm activity.
