The cab of a semi-truck was destroyed by fire while traveling on I-57 at mile marker 103 near Dix Monday morning.
Jefferson Fire officials say the driver was able to pull to the side of the road and get out safely before firemen arrived.
Only one lane had to be shutdown during the firefighting effort, with the other lane remaining open for traffic.
The fire was reported at 9:30 Monday morning, with firemen on the scene for about two and a half hours.
