The Salem Elks Lodge #1678 will host their annual Flag Retirement Ceremony on June 13, at the grounds of the Elk Lodge.
The ceremony will begin around 10:00 am with Elks Members, Mike Hooe and Chaplain Danny Shuler, speaking about this respectful way to dispose of worn or damaged American flags. The members of these troops will begin preparing the flags for retirement around 8:00 am.
Trail Life Troops 262 and 6288 will be in attendance along with American Heritage Girls Troop 6288.
