The Centralia City Council Monday night is scheduled to get an update on construction of the new water treatment plant and a proposed 12-year extension of the downtown Tax Increment Financing District #3.

A public hearing is scheduled at 5:30 to vacate a portion of Swan Avenue in the Industrial Park to assist in the expansion of Intermountain Electronics and an alley for St. Mary’s Church that runs north and south between North Elm and North Maple between East Broadway and East Noleman.   Action on vacating the sections of road is on the council meeting agenda that follows.

The council will be asked to move forward on demolition of 14 substandard homes with use of a state grant totaling $143,464.   City staff is suggesting two other bids be declined.

A resolution to accept the collective bargaining agreement with the policeman’s benevolent labor committee is also on the agenda.

The meeting begins at six Monday night at Centralia City Hall.
