Washington County Sheriff’s Officials report only minor damage and no injuries when a car and Amtrak train were involved in an accident south of Irvington in Washington County.
The sheriff’s office said reports were not immediately available on the incident that occurred at Apple Tree and Holly Road early Friday afternoon. The Amtrak train was able to proceed on its route following the incident.
Reports are not expected to be available from the sheriff’s department until Monday.
The Irvington Fire Department and Washington County Ambulance were also called to the scene. The Centralia Fire Protection District was also dispatched, but the mutual aid was canceled enroute.
