The City of Salem hosts Family Fun Day in the Park in Bryan Memorial Park on Saturday.
Recreation Director Jed Casburn says activity starts with the fishing derby for those 18 and under. Those wanting to participate should meet at 7:30 along the Salem Reservoir near Salem Township Hospital. Activity then moves to the area around the Aquatic Center Parking lot from ten to two.
“We have around fifteen businesses and organizations helping us this year, which is phenomenal,” Casburn said. “A lot of support coming out with booths, doing games, crafts, whatever they want to do to provide for the community to have a good, fun day. We’ve got good church participation this year that always does food and drinks.”
Casburn explains the goal of Family Day.
“The whole goal of family day has always just been community fun. Come out, enjoy our park, and have it be free, not having to worry about spending anything.”
Casburn says everyone is invited out to participate in the totally free event on Saturday.
