During its meeting Monday evening, the Wamac City Council voted to accept bids on three properties that are currently owned by the city. Those properties are located at 314 West 14th Street, 322 West 15th Street, and 731 James. The council agreed to impose a minimum bid of $1,500 on each property.
In other action, the council approved an increase in water deposit fees. For renters, the deposits will increase from $100 to $200, and for rental property owners the deposit fee will increase from $20 to $50.
Aldermen approved the purchase of American flags to adorn certain city streets. The estimated cost will be around $900 for approximately 25 flags.
The council also briefly met in executive session for the purpose of discussing city personnel, but no action was taken in open session afterwards.
