In Class 1a, Christ Our Rock’s Landyn Mitchell finished off his stellar prep track career with 3 more state medals. He repeated as champion in the 110 hurdles in a PB time of 14.11. Mitchell also was 2nd in the high jump and triple jump to score 26 points, which was good enough to put Christ Our Rock 6th with 26 points.
Morrison was the state champ followed by Pleasant Plains and then El Paso Gridley. Gillespie was 8th.
Mater Dei’s Reagan Woomer was 6th in the 400m. Nashville junior Sam Blumhorst threw a PR throw of 57’5.75’’ to finish 2nd in the shot put.
Also, Flora junior Kehlin Crawford did not miss a jump through the finals as he won the state high jump championship clearing 6-7.50.
Gillespie’s Chaz Oberkfell pulled off the distance triple crown. After winning the 1a state cross country championship in the fall, the senior added state 1600 and 3200 meter champion to his trophy case. He was also 8th in the 800m.
