A rural Orchardville home in extreme northeastern Jefferson County was destroyed by fire Sunday morning.
The fire was at a home on Depeche Road about five miles southwest of Orchardville. It was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived. The cause of the fire has not been determined, with the investigation continuing.
The person believed to be the occupant of the home was gone for the weekend. His name has not been released until confirmation he was the resident at the home.
There were no injuries.
Jefferson Fire, Wayne City, Kell, and Bluford all provided mutual aide assistance.
The fire call came in at 9:19 Sunday morning. Firemen were on the scene for about two hours.
