Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles took Monday’s 1a regional quarterfinal game in dramatic fashion, with a 5-4 walk-off victory over Lebanon Varsity Greyhounds. The game was tied at four in the bottom of the seventh when Hunter Thompson singled, scoring one run.

 

Lebanon Varsity Greyhounds opened the scoring in the third after Collin Adams singled, scoring two runs.

 

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles tied the game in the bottom of the third thanks to a walk by Brady Cain, and a sacrifice fly by Austin Hoffman.

 

Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles took the lead in the bottom of the fourth. Cain singled, scoring one run, to give Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles the leg up, 3-2.

 

Lebanon Varsity Greyhounds tied the game in the top of the sixth thanks to an error, and a ground out by Henry Tilk.

 

Drew Haines started the game for Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles. The right-handed pitcher surrendered four hits and four runs (two earned) over five and two-thirds innings, striking out eight and walking two. Adams began the game for Lebanon Varsity Greyhounds. The starting pitcher allowed three hits and four runs (one earned) over four innings, striking out five and walking five. Cain pitched one and one-third innings of scoreless ball for Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles in relief. The hurler allowed zero hits, striking out three and walking one.

 

Kody Burks went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles in hits. Cain, Burks, Thompson, and Hoffman each drove in one run for Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles. Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles had patience at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game. Cain and Kyan Walker led the team with two bases on balls each. Cain stole two bases. Odin/Patoka/Sandoval Varsity Eagles ran wild on the base paths, piling up four stolen bases for the game.

 

Adams drove the middle of the lineup, leading Lebanon Varsity Greyhounds with two runs batted in. The number three hitter went 1-for-4 on the day. Adams, Deion Washington, Freddy Durbin, and Garrett Cotts each collected one hit for Lebanon Varsity Greyhounds.
