Odin Fire Chief Greg Smith says crowds were down at the Odin Firemen’s Picnic this weekend. He assessed the situation as the picnic was headed into its final hours before the fireworks display Saturday night.

“It’s going good. Obviously the number of people out here are a bit down because of the weather but we expected that. That’s something we can’t control but its picked up quite a bit since the weather. No rain’s staying around, so it’s a little better tonight. We were shoved down for a little bit but it’s not too bad.”

The Odin Park dried out enough to allow the car and sound-off competition to be held in the park instead of moving to the school.
