The Salem Lady Wildcats softball season came to an end at Breese Central yesterday losing to the host Lady Cougars 9-0 as Salem was outhit 14-1.  Marah Johnson had the lone single for Salem in her final game before moving on to play for Kaskaskia College next year.  Kenley Cripps and Morgan Honerkamp pitched in the Salem loss.

The Centralia Annies will open up their 3a regionals today at Marion when they take on East St Louis with a start time set for 3pm followed by Marion and Carbondale.  At Waterloo, Cahokia takes on Waterloo at 3pm followed at 4:30 by Mt Vernon and Mascoutah.

In 1a, Odin/Patoka/Sandoval got 3 hits from Gwen Belcher as they advanced with a 15-5 win over Valmeyer.  Anabelle Garrett and Belcher each had 3 hits.  Bella Pearce drove in 3 runs.  Bria Thompson and Kallee Johnson also had multiple hits for OPS.  Chelsea Haines gutted out the win on a day where she wasn’t feeling great.  She allowed 5 hits and 5 runs with 7 strikeouts over her five innings of work.
