A rural Mt. Vernon mobile home was heavily damaged by fire early Tuesday night.
Jefferson Fire officials say the fire at the Vonna Lane home in the 15,000 block of East Nolan was reported a smoke coming from a stove. Upon arrival, firemen found a dryer in a hallway on fire. The fire burned about a third of the trailer, with the rest receiving heavy heat and smoke damage.
The Lane family was home at the time and escaped without injury. It is still unclear what started the fire.
Jefferson Fire had Mt. Vernon City, Weber Township, Ewing Northern and Benton Firemen on the scene for mutual aid. Wayne City and Woodlawn stood by at the Jefferson Fire station in the event of another fire.
The fire was first reported at five Monday night, with firemen on the scene for about two hours.
